JYPE’s first ever boy band in 1997 was quite different from the other boy bands. They were known to be “Talent over looks” and also Park Joon Hyung was over the age of 30 at the time of debut. They had several hit songs throughout the years. Their third album has the highest albums sold for boy bands at over 2 million copies.
However their plans for overseas advancement due to the end of their contracts and eventually disbandment. The members are currently engaged in solo careers in music and acting. Park Joon Hyung is currently under JYPE and is in Hollywood right now.

In 2002, Rain debuted but did not receive a lot of popularity. However, due to his appearance on variety shows and new music, his popularity grew exponentially. His dances were followed and parodies were done by other celebrities.
He also had a successful acting career especially in his appeance in “Full House”.
Finally, Rain went overseas to the United States where his acting career in Hollywood starring in movies such as “Speed Racer” and ” Ninja Assassin”. Although his popularity may not be as high as in Asia, he had definitely become known to Americans especially through his appearance on Time’s Most Influential People and dance battle with Colbert.
Now he is a major shareholder of J.Tunes Entertainment and also produced a boy band himself, Mblaq.
Lim Jung Hee (J.Lim)
Known before her debut in 2005 performing on the streets with her piano, her talent began to spread. As she debuted, her vocals was not doubted by anyone. She was also Rain’s vocal teacher before her debut as well.
She moved the United States for an American debut but due to the downturn in the U.S. music industry, was pushed to a later date. Currently she is still preparing for her future debut in America.

The group to start the girl group craze in 2007 with their hit song “Tell Me” was known at first for Sunye’s long trainee years of six years. Sunye’s audition was broadcasted in 2001 which gathered a lot of attention until she disappeared. Finally she returned to the screen as a Wonder Girl.
Although they have had hardships along the way such as the Hyunah’s leave due to sickness, fatal car accident, and Sohee’s accident on set, they showed their success with one big hit.
Through their song “Tell Me” the started a girl group craze and a dance craze all over the internet with parodies ranging from police tell me to baby tell me. The next year they released two more hits raising them to become one of Korea’s top groups.
They moved overseas to debut in America. They have been the most successful in their music endeavors in the U.S. as they toured as opening guest with the Jonas Brothers, several appearances on magazines, and a spot on the BillBoard Hot100. They are the first Korean artist to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 and also received #1 on Billboard’s single charts beating artist such as Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey.
They are currently preparing for their first full American album after Sunmi’s announcement to go on hiatus for studies and Lim as a replacement. They first solo tour "Wonder World Tour" in America the summer of 2010 was quiet a success and they are currently preparing for a full album release in American in 2011.
Joo
Debuting in early 2008 immediately after the success of the Wonder Girls, Joo was a ballad singer. Although she received attention because she was from JYP, that did not last long with past pictures of her engaging in drinking and pictures with her boyfriend.
She asked for more time to train before she continued her career and is currently preparing for her new album after two years out of the music scene.

Mistranslations of his comments caused netizens to turn against Jaebom which eventually led to his leave. Later it was revealed that Jaebom's contract with JYPE was terminated due to personal choices that were made that was unacceptable in Korea.
Currently the boys remain as six members and continue to be active not only in music but in acting and variety shows as we. They joined the Wonder Girls on their "Wonder World Tour" as opening guest the summer of 2010.
